Pre-Algebra

The subject of pre-algebra reinforces mathematical skills taught in elementary grades with additional advanced computation including an emphasis on Algebraic concepts. Students study fractions, decimals, percents, positive and negative integers and rational numbers. They become more proficient in using ratios, proportions and solving algebraic equations. Students will develop and expand problem solving skills (creatively and analytically) in order to solve word problems. Students continue to practice using math skills to solve word problems and to think creatively and analytically.

Expectations:
BE HERE! You should come to class on time, every school day. DO NOT bring with you food, drinks, excess baggage (cell phones, music devices, luggage, etc...), or a bad attitude.
BE PREPARED! Bring with you any assignments you have been working on, something (s) to write with, and your brain. Come mentally, physically, and emotionally prepared to the best of your abilities each and every day.
BE INVOLVED! I am not here to make you learn, or to learn for you. This is your education and you need to make the most of it. I will do as much as I can to be here for you in the process. This means listen to others while they are talking (teacher, students, guests), ask questions when you have them, share your thoughts and ideas, stay focused during the class period, try your best, and help others when you can. During tests, EVERYONE MUST REMAIN QUIET UNTIL EVERYONE IS DONE!
